Term 4 is renowned for being very busy and this year is no different. We have had classes attending wonderful excursions to compliment their classroom learning and other events on our calendar include the Inter School Swimming Carnival, Grade 6 Transition programs and Orientation Day, and of course our End of Year Celebration Assembly. Although there are many events on the calendar, we will remain focused on providing exemplary teaching and learning programs. Next week we will be involved in an External School Review with a Review Team. All Tasmanian Government Schools are externally reviewed every four years. The purpose of External School Reviews is to support schools to raise achievement, sustain high performance and provide quality assurance to build public confidence in government schools. We look forward to displaying our shining stars and all the amazing work our school community does. Go Team Herdy!
This is a timely reminder for our Grade 6 students as planning for their end of year celebrations are well underway. However, it is important that students remain focused on their learning and continue to participate fully, with cooperation in all school programs and not think that they can just choose to participate in the final celebratory activities and rewards. The expectation is that students behave appropriately, demonstrate school values, act respectfully by following instructions and school rules including wearing of our school uniform. Keep working hard Grade 6. We know you can do it!
Finally, we wish our swimmers representing the school in the upcoming Division G carnival all the best for Tuesday next week.

Pevan & Sarah Concert - Kinder / Prep/1 & 1/2
Our kinder, prep/1 and 1/2 classes went on an excursion to see Pevan and Sarah live in concert last week. All classes have been counting down the days for so long and finally the big day arrived!
We caught a bus into Hobart and made our way to the Playhouse Theatre. We were very lucky and excited to find out that we had front row seats for the concert.
We have spent all year singing and dancing along to their songs on the screen we couldn’t believe our eyes when Pevan and Sarah came onto the stage.
All the students and adults were singing and dancing along and Miss Street, Liahm, Lylah and Dayne were lucky enough to be invited on stage to show off their air guitar skills.
All classes had an amazing time, and it is a memory our students will never forget.
2/3 & 4/5 Excursion to Richmond
Last Thursday, 2/3 and 4/5 went on an excursion to Richmond.
First, we went to the model village of old Hobart town. This is a miniature model of what Hobart looked like 200 years ago. In our groups, we did a scavenger hunt around the model. The winners won a bag of lollies. We had a great time here.
Next, we walked to the Richmond Bridge which is the oldest bridge in Australia. Jett worked out that next year it will turn 200 years old! There were lots of ducks that wanted to eat our recess.
After that, we went to the park where we played and ate ice cream from the Lolly Shop. It was so delicious and Ruby got really bad brain freeze!
Finally we walked back to the bus to head back to school. We want to say a big thank you to Ms Hedge, Miss Jo and Kelly for all their help. We loved our trip to Richmond!
For the past two Tuesdays a small group of our kinder students have had a the opportunity to work in the garden with Ryan and Matt.
Our budding gardeners really enjoyed pulling out weeds and spending time in the sunshine.
