Welcome Back to Term 4!
It’s hard to believe we’re here already! With the weather warming up and UV levels on the rise, it’s crucial that all students wear a hat during recess and lunch. Students without hats will need to sit in the shade to stay sun-safe. A variety of hats are available for purchase from our uniform shop for just $10.
Bike and Scooter Safety
For students riding bikes or scooters to school, safety is our top priority. All students must wear a helmet and are required to put their bikes and scooters away by 8:30 am. This rule is in place to prevent collisions, as students are coming out of classes and putting their bags away at this time. Unfortunately, we’ve seen some instances where students continue riding around buildings, creating potential hazards. Students who are unable to meet these safety standards will be asked to leave their bikes or scooters at home. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.
Looking Ahead: Class Structures for 2025
We know many families are keen to know about class structures for 2025. We will be sharing this information with you soon, so please keep an eye out for updates.
Swimming Carnival Success
A big congratulations to all students who participated with such enthusiasm in our recent swimming carnival! It was fantastic to see everyone representing their houses with pride and demonstrating excellent sporting behaviour.
Focus on Reading and School Values
This term, our commitment to fostering a love for reading and our school values—connection, respect, and courage—continues. We look forward to sharing the incredible growth achieved from our new reading approach with you toward the end of the term.
Here’s to a successful Term 4 together!
Warm regards,
Tobin McColl, Principal

5/6s Visit to Parliament House - 6 November
On Wednesday 6 November both 5/6 classes visited Parliament House for an informative session on parliamentary processes. Students had a guided tour of Parliament House and participated in a role play in the House of Representatives. We we were so proud of the way that our students conducted themselves throughout the day, they demonstrated our school values of Courage, Respect and Connection and were a pleasure to take out for the day. Children finished the day with lunch and a play at Legacy Park.
Craig Farrell MLC wrote a letter to our school, below:
On Wednesday 23 October our upper primary students had a great morning at the Clarence Pool participating in this year's Swimming Carnival.
Students took part in freestyle, back stroke, breast stroke and aquatic underarm events, with some fun noodle, kickboard, run across the pool and ping pong ball blow races.
Thank you Mrs McKenzie and Danielle for your support and keeping tally on the day. Congratulations to everyone for having a go and doing their absolute best and to Red team that won on the day.
On Tuesday 22 October our Kindergarten and Prep classes attended a Teddy Bear's Picnic event at the Bridgewater Library. We listened to some bear stories, We're Going on a Bear Hunt and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?". Our students enthusiastically joined in with reading as they remembered some of their favourite books!
After our teddy bear's picnic we headed to the park for some morning tea and a play. It was a beautiful, sunny day and waterplay at the park was definitely a favourite!
We are so proud of our early years students for demonstrating our school value of respect as they engaged with members of the public and community spaces.
We will be holding another assembly in Week 6 with 5/6R hosting and 1/2H sharing. This will be our final regular assembly for the year.
Celebration Assemblies will be held on Monday 9 December in the GP Room for Prep-Year 2 from 11.30 a.m.-12.15 p.m. followed by our Year 3-6 Assembly from 12.30 p.m. - 1.15 p.m.
Class awards will be presented at these events. All other awards will be be presented at our Year 6 Leaver's Assembly on Thursday 19 December at the Brighton Civic Centre from 11.00 a.m.
Friends and family members are invited to attend.
In Kitchen/Garden classes we have been making flatbread with fresh garden salad. We all sat down together in the courtyard to enjoy our mini feast.
A reminder to all families that students are required to wear hats during Term 4 as we enter the warmer months, with higher UV ratings.
We have three different styles available, as pictured below for purchase from the office for $10.00. Peak caps are not suitable to wear at school.
Our Art program students finished the term with a flourish, crafting magnificent Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal poles. Steve's expert installation in the courtyard has brought their artwork to life.
Students Annalise, Jaxyn, Billi, Stella, Harmony, Jack, and Eric are bursting with pride, excited to share their masterpieces with the school community.
