Dear HCPS Families,
Welcome back to Term 2! We hope everyone had a restful break and is ready for another exciting term of learning and growth.
New Boundary Fence for Safety
You may have noticed that construction has begun on our new boundary fence. This is an important addition to our school, designed to help keep our students safe while they learn and play. We appreciate your patience as this work is completed.
High Expectations – In and Out of the Classroom
This term, we are focusing on high expectations in all areas of school life. At HCPS, this means:
- Listening carefully to instructions
- Wearing our school uniform with pride
- Trying our best in all situations
As we move into the colder months, wearing the correct uniform is especially important. It not only keeps students warm but also fosters a strong sense of belonging and school pride. Uniforms also help us easily identify students, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. If your child needs any uniform items, please visit us—we’re happy to help!
School Futsal Titles – Good Luck Teams!
Next week, three of our teams will be heading to Goodwood to compete in the School Futsal Titles. We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to seeing them represent HCPS with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Good luck to all players—we know you’ll do us proud!
We’re looking forward to a fantastic Term 2 filled with learning, teamwork, and success. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we can’t wait to see what we achieve together!
Sincerely,
Tobin McColl
Principal
This term at Herdsmans Cove we have started Friday Fun. This is an afternoon where students select what activity they would like to participate in. These activities are to help boost engagement and positive behaviour.
Below are some photos of students enjoying their first Friday Fun afternoon.

Alot of work has been completed in the garden over the school holidays. Our garden is coming along quite nicely with some tasty winter vegetables growing. The garden had a facelift during the school break which has made it safer, more accessible and manageable.

As we're in Autumn classes have collected some beautiful coloured leaves. These leaves have been used by students to create artwork in our classes.

As a reward incentive at Herdsmans Cove we have been using a system of 'Cove Coins'. These coins are earned by students who are following school expectations and are displaying positive behaviour.
Students who have collected 10 Cove Coins are invited to participate in a game of Futsal at Bridgewater PCYC every Tuesday and Thursday after recess.

On Wednesday we held a Mother's Day stall for students to buy a gift for their special someone for Mother's Day.
Students arrived to the stall in small groups and chose gift or gifts to take home for Sunday.
We hope you all a very happy and relaxing day for Mother's Day on Sunday.
Thankyou to Peta and Ms Hudson for organising the stall.
Last term our early year students participated in the Easter Carniavl. It was fantastic to see all students getting in and having a go and most of all having fun.
Thankyou to Miss P for organising this event.
