Students in 1/2 Rizzolo have been exploring their artistic talents this term by creating self-portraits. Students have learnt about the different features each person has on their face and have paid close attention to details such as eye, skin and hair colour. These portraits were first drafted in pencil then outlined in markers. The final step was to add colour using pastels.

Teaching children how to draw self-portraits helps to develop observational and fine motor skills. These skills are important for children to learn to help them be successful in everyday life.
