Principal's Message
Remembrance Day 2021 marked the 103rd anniversary of the signing of the Armistice between Allied forces and Germany on 11 November 1918, which ended the First World War. Many Australians stop what they are doing exactly at 11 am on the 11 November each year to dedicate one minute silence to remember all those who have died in war, especially the soldiers that died in World War 1. Last Thursday as a school we remembered the fallen and observed a minute silence as a sign of respect and reflected on the bravery of others.
We were all very impressed with the efforts of our swimming team who participated in the Inter School SPSSA Swimming Carnival last Tuesday. Their courage, persistence and determination paid off, with the team coming away placed third in the Division G carnival. Not only were we extremely proud of our student’s participation in the carnival their overall behaviour and sportsmanship was fabulous. Congratulations on being wonderful ambassadors for our school.
Next Wednesday our Grade 3/4 and 5/6 classes will participate in on-line safety sessions (ThinkUKnow) run by Tasmania Police. The sessions will cover information about sharing content online and how students can be share aware. The sessions will also cover what children, see, say and do online and how their interactions online may impact on their safety. If you do not want your child to participate please contact the school.
