Principal's Message
Dear Families,
You may be aware that it has been a difficult week for us with the passing of one of our highly valued and dearly loved staff members, our wonderful Teacher Assistant Mrs Debra (Deb) Bellette. Our Deb was the epitome of what we value at Herdsmans Cove - compassion, kindness, care and commitment. We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with Deb. As a tribute to the work undertaken by Deb at Herdsmans Cove Primary our library will be named the Debra Bellette Memorial Library to honour her memory.
I would also like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the important role of all the Teacher Assistants in our school, whose hard work and dedication make a difference to students, teachers and the school community. Thank you so much for the amazing work you do!
It has been so wonderful that our students have at last been able to get out and about over the past few weeks. Recently our Grade 3-5 students thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Swimming and Water Safety Program and yesterday Grade 1/2 delighted in the opportunity to learn about sea creatures at the Marine Discovery Centre at Woodbridge. Our students made us very proud on both occasions by demonstrating exemplary behaviour.
Thank you to all our wonderful parents who have supported us with upholding or school dress code. It has been great to see everyone wearing navy blue and orange demonstrating pride in our school. Go team Herdy!
Carolyn Brown, Principal
