In 1/2R, we have been busy measuring objects around our classroom. We have used paperclips, sticks and blocks as our units to measure the length of our feet, books and much more! We made some fantastic discoveries about measuring length. The students came up with some rules so that our measuring is fair and accurate.

 We then went on to measure capacity – that is how much a container can hold. The students were challenged to make a container that would hold exactly ten koala counters. We were surprised to discover that even though all the containers held ten koalas, they all looked so different! Some were tall and skinny; some were short and wide.
