Principal Message
Dear Families and Friends,
What a term it’s been so far at Herdsmans Cove Primary School! Over the past few weeks, our school has been buzzing with excitement, creativity, and community spirit. From the colourful costumes of our Book Week Parade to the joy of discovering new stories at the Book Fair, it’s been wonderful to see students engaging with literacy in such meaningful and fun ways.
Our Pizza Afternoons have been a huge hit, giving each class the chance to cook and share a meal with a special person from home. These moments of connection are what make our school community so strong. Alongside this, our Breakfast Club continues to provide a warm and welcoming start to the day, and Friday Fun Afternoons have become a highlight for many students—rewarding positive behaviour and building friendships through play.
These are just a few of the reasons why Herdsmans Cove is a great place to learn and grow. We’re proud of the supportive, inclusive environment we’re building together, and we encourage families to stay connected with us on Facebook and Seesaw. These platforms are a great way to celebrate student learning, share updates, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.
As we move through the second half of the term, we’re continuing to focus on high expectations for learning and behaviour. We know that when schools and families work together, students thrive. That’s why we’re asking everyone—students, staff, and families—to live “The Herdy Way every day.”
Our Herdy Way focus for Weeks 6–10 is all about CONNECTION:
- Week 6: Leave it at the Gate – helping students start each day fresh and focused.
- Weeks 7 & 8: Make it better, not bigger! – encouraging positive problem-solving.
- Weeks 9 & 10: TEAM – Together Everyone Achieves More – building collaboration and community.
These messages are more than just words—they’re the foundation of the respectful, caring culture we’re building at Herdsmans Cove. We encourage all members of our community to reflect on these values and help us model them every day.
Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Nathan Mills
