In English this term in 3/4 we have been reading the book ‘Feathers for Phoebe.’ It is the story of a little grey bird who just wants to be noticed. To try to achieve this she goes to the most popular beauty salon in the forest and Zelda gives her a complete makeover of bright, colourful feathers to help her be noticed. However, she still is not noticed. In the end she gets noticed for just being herself. Our class discovered that the moral of the story was that you don’t need to dress up or change yourself to be noticed. As part of our unit we created art pieces of what we thought Phoebe might look like when she added vibrant, fancy feathers on her crest, chest, wings and tail. All the students had a lot of fun creating their unique, bright art pieces, bringing Phoebe to life.
